Best Silk Sleep Sack
After trying at least three brands of these silk sleeping bag liners (or sleep sacks, as they are sometimes called), I have concluded that the Sea to Summit sacks give you the most bang for the buck.
Their ripstop reinforcement seems to be the key reason these STS bags last two years of everynight use or longer, compared to a year or less for other silk sleep sacks.
Yes, I rely on these for nightly use with a futon. I climb into one of these luxurious-feeling silk cocoons, throw on a blanket or comforter, and I'm set for a comfortable night's sleep. No further bedmaking required!
The reason I have deducted one star is I wish these had an opening up the side to allow for easier entrance and egress.
Otherwise I am happy to see new colors available in designer shades more fashionable than you might expect in a sleep sack.

Amazing piece of gear
I have a "mummy" shape liner that I used as a sleeping bag liner while on an expedition to Mongolia. The silk is incredibly tough and the stiches are great. In addition to a sleeping sack it did double duty as a laundry bag or all around swag. As an example of the abuse I put this thing through I filled it with wet laundry, slung it over my shoulder and carried it a mile from the river back to the campsite - the seams are still as tight as they were when I bought it. I abused this liner and it's still as soft, strong and comfortable as it ever was.
It can be washed in the sink or in a river and be dry in a couple of hours. It packs down to less than the size of a 12 oz coke can. This is a great piece of gear for camping, where it keeps your sleeping bag clean and makes it just a bit warmer, or for traveling when you don't have sheets or just want something to cover you while sleeping through a long layover in the airport.

Camped in the Wadi Rum for Xmas. Freezing on the sand at night. Amazing how incredibly well this liner works. Also great for every night on the road in many challenging situations i.e. 2 Star hotels! Trudi
